An Error of Comedies (with apologies to Will Shakespeare)

 My Christmas album is still banned! 

And the reason is has been banned is that the spoken word is now banned on Spotify in the U.S.A. (how will they talk to each other? ) I'll attempt to explain it but it won't be easy. Are you strapped in and ready to go?

It would seem that there is anticipated litigation in the U.S.A as a result of Spotify tracks using the spoken word. It would seem that Spotify has said (presumably in Swedish before the spoken word ban - as they are a Swedish company - did you know that?) they are not responsible. The blame should go to the distributors. My distributor, Tunecore then said "Hang on" (as they didn't have a word ban at that time) "in that case no track with the spoken word will be sent to Spotify in the U.S.A". GENIUS!!

But then they  asked themselves "How do we know the tracks with spoken words?" And somebody else suggested COMEDY as a lot of the naughty comedians who use swear words do comedy. And so it was declared that any track using COMEDY as it genre would not go to Spotify U.S.A.

Now if you are as confused as I am you probably need a break and I have been advised that good blogs need to include some images to break up the monotony of too many words. So here is a drawing I did of my dog Tallulah. I've not yet reached the stage of doing portraits of people's dogs yet but who knows what the future might bring!

Well now that you've admired my artwork back to the story - and I bet you've guessed what genre I chose for the album - primary Holidays (that what they seem to call Christmas) and secondary COMEDY!!!

So my album went to everywhere but the U.S.A. No-one warned me of the consequences - so no-one could listen to my Christmas album in land of the free! Though I'm not sure it can still be called the land of free when first the spoken word and now comedy is no longer permitted for millions of listeners.

Anyway Tunecore's legal department, after complaints by me, has recognised the fact that my album is not primarily the spoken word and I have asked them to remove the COMEDY genre so it can be released over the next few days.

And after all the struggle I've had the least you can do is stream my album over and over again over the Christmas holidays. And to keep the image people happy here is a little image of it

And by the way my error of comedies was choosing the genre of COMEDY
